WET WEATHER ARRANGEMENTS

In wet weather pupils are allowed into school during breaks and at lunchtime.  If the weather is wet before the school day, pupils will be able to gather in the carpeted area of the school.  However, space is limited, so we ask that children arrive as close to the start of the school day as possible.  Children having school lunches may remain in school during wet weather.

UNEXPECTED CLOSURES

In the event of an emergency, such as a power cut or severe weather, that prevents schools from opening in the morning or results in an early closure a range of communications channels are used to let parents know.  At Victoria we will use text messages and our school website to update you as soon as possible.  In addition, announcements will be made on Radio Forth (Forth 1 and Forth 2) and via the Council's corporate Twitter account (www.twitter.com/Edinburgh_CC) and Facebook page (www.facebook.com/edinburghcouncil).
